My Story
Mission
To utilize my creativity to design and build new software that helps make the world a better place.
I discovered the wonderful world of Computer Science my Junior year in undergrad. Intro to Computer Science
class with C++ was the start of my continual love affair with this field. I love being able to utilize my
creativity to design and build new software that makes a difference. Towards that end, my
career focus and passion is in eLearning Instructional Design, Mental & Medical Health Assistance, and
Underserved Communities.
Background
I am a math and science enthusiast with a BS in Mathematics, Computer Science, & Pre-Physical Therapy. In
addition to that, I'm a very empathetic and creative person with an MS in Human-Computer Interaction. My
compassion has driven my career from stereotypical Corporate America to companies that serve
a good purpose. And my creativity has driven my career from strictly backend development to include both
frontend development and design as well.
Furthermore, participating in and giving back to the community
is very important to me. I'm a member of a number of Meetup groups and Tech Communities that focus on
encouraging women, people of color, and queer individuals in the tech industry. Diversity & Inclusion are
important endeavors from a social perspective and for business innovation and profit. Hence, I strive to
assist in this cause in any way I can. And I hope my career stands as an inspiration to those in these
under-represented communities within the tech industry.
Interests
In my spare time, I love the arts, outdoor activities, and motorcycles. For example, an ideal Sunday would be to ride my
2012 Yamaha V Star 250 to a park where I would then hike through the beautiful scenic terrain, stopping to smell the
flowers and curiously watch the turtles swimming in the ponds. Following the hike, I'd find a nice spot with a view
to sit down and write poetry in my journal.
I also really enjoy creating and building things. Whether it be as tiny as a Nanoblock set or as large as a wooden table,
I like putting things together.
